Napkin Making
Small Talk City invites you and your family to gather, sew, and prepare something meaningful for the school year ahead. Join us mornings for stitches, coffee, conversation, and play as we welcome the new school year together.
Together with our children, we'll hand-sew simple cloth napkins for snack time, lunch, and beyond — a keepsake from their first days at school.
No sewing experience necessary. All ages encouraged to attend.
Together, we’ll make reusable cloth napkins for children to carry to school each day—a small piece of home made by the hands of the people who love them.
All ages and experience levels are welcome.

BRING YOUR OWN MATERIALS
Experienced makers are welcome to bring their own supplies. We recommend plain, simple, 100% cotton fabric cut into napkin-sized squares with a two-inch seam allowance.
We’ll have irons, a sewing machine, tools, guidance, and workspace ready for everyone to use. You’re also welcome to bring your own sewing machine or pattern.
SMALL TALK CITY NAPKIN-MAKING KITS
Need a little help getting started? Our $10 kits include everything needed to make 10 napkins:
• Secondhand textiles saved from the landfill
• Fabric pre-cut and prepared for sewing
• Needle and thread
• Simple instructions
Work with us during one or all three sessions, then take your kit home and finish at your own pace. Kits may also be purchased without attending a making session.
REFRESHMENTS
Nursery bread, coffee, and tea will be available for a little nosh and nourishment.
